Practical information

Welcome to the Faculty of Humanities, in the Southern Campus of the University of Copenhagen!


The venue for the conference will be the University of Copenhagen.

The opening keynote on Tuesday August 18th will be held at the ceremonial hall of the University (main building, Fiolstræde 1, 1171 Copenhagen), situated at Frue Plads in the city centre of Copenhagen, right next to Vor Frue Kirke/Domkirken (nearest metro station: Nørreport). It is easy to walk from the ceremonial hall to the welcome reception at the Copenhagen Town Hall (5 min. by foot).

The rest of the conference will be held at the Southern Campus (KUA) which is situated next to Islands Brygge metro station. It is  easily accessible by bus and metro. The conference will be held in building 23, room 23.0.50 (ground floor), on Karen Blixensvej 4, 2300 Copenhagen.

Local Transportation

The Metro train from Copenhagen Airport offers you a direct train every 4-6 minutes to the city centre of Co-penhagen and will take approximately 14 minutes. Please check the Metro homepage for further information.
A taxi from Copenhagen Airport to the city centre is approximately DKK 250 (no extra charges for suitcases).
If you are in Copenhagen for several days it might be an advantage to buy a City Pass valid for 24, 48 and 72 hours.
You can by tickets physically at the DSB ticketsale on stations in the cetral Copenhagen, Copenhagen Airport and at the ticket machines at the metro stations. Or as a mobile ticket on your mobilephone - read more about this here.

Suggestions for places to dine

If you would like to dine in Copenhagen you could check out the following places:

  • Copenhagen Streetfood on the paper island - here you can find all types of food at small food stalls on one place.
  • Torvehallerne - the market halls near by Nørreport which have small cafées and dining places.
  • Kødbyen - which is the old slaughter area in Copenhagen but now a in-place with lots of bars and restaurants.
  • Madklubben restaurants - you can find these restaurants several places in Copenhagen. Here you can 3 or 4 dishes for a favorable price.
  • Restaurant Vita - a restaurant placed in the old royal pharmacy. Near by Kongens Nytorv.
  • Bistro Pastis - a french restaurant near by Kongens Nytor
  • Halifax Burgers - A burger restaurant with good burgers even for vegetarians which is located several places i town.
