Nordic TAG 2015 post-conference excursions

On the 19th of April we have planned several excursions. The point of the half day excursions will be the same as with the session at the conference - if you want to join two different excursions, you can go on one in the morning, and the other in the afternoon.

Please note that you can only join one all-day excursion, but two halfday excursions.
Travel expenses are not paid for by the organizers, however participation in any of the excursions is free.

Half day excursions:

The National Museum of Denmark. A guided tour through the exhibition "The Danish prehistory" https://en.natmus.dk/museums/the-national-museum-of-denmark/exhibitions/the-danish-prehistory/

Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek. A guided tour through the Antiquities Collection.
The New Carlsberg Glyptotek is one of the greatest portrait and sculpture collections of ancient greek and egyptian and roman origin. Furthermore we also have sculpture from France and Denmark from the second half of the 1800s and early 1900s. In extension of that there is an exhibition of paintings and objects of the danish golden age and paintings of the impressionism for example Gauguin. The tour will offer an introduction to the history of the museum from the early days, and focus on the ancient sculpture from the greeks, romans and egyptians with an archaological viewpoint. The contexts and discussions regarding certain objects will be presented and a talk of the research done by the museum especially the theme of colour on ancient sculpture. Furthermore and introduction to the basis and ideas of the museum will be presented. There will be plenty of posibility for questions during the tour. The tour can be in english or danish based on your preferences.

Copenhagen Museum. Not a tour at the actual museum, but a visit to some of the Metro excavations along with a tour of Copenhagen. 
The excursion will begin at Kgs. Nytorv with a visit to the Metro excavation located there. On the way to the other two Metro excavations there will be a few other stops in the city. The tour ends at Rådshuspladsen and the excavation there(City Hall square). The duration of this tour is max 2½ hours.
