Jeannette Boertien


Jeanette Boertien is an archaeologist in the faculty of Theology and Religious Studies at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands. As a specialist in Levantine archaeology she participated in excavations in the region and since 1996 in Jordan.
Her research focuses on archaeological textiles and technological, social and  religious aspects of textile production in Iron Age Transjordan.
Jeannette is co-director of the excavations at Tell Abu Sarbut in the Central Jordan Valley in Jordan; an agricultural hamlet with remains of an early Roman villa and domestic and industrial remains from Islamic periods.
